PANIQUI, Tarlac – The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) has extended a helping hand to the residents of Paniqui affected by recent flooding, donating ₱200,000 to support the municipality’s ongoing relief and recovery efforts.
The financial assistance was formally turned over on Monday, September 14, during the flag-raising ceremony in front of the Paniqui Town Hall. The donation was awarded to Municipal Mayor Kat Roxas as a gesture of support for the local government’s initiatives for Paniqueños devastated by the floods.
The local government stated that the donation will be a significant boost to continuing relief operations and the provision of necessary assistance to families impacted by the calamity.
The Municipality of Paniqui was officially placed under a State of Calamity on August 29, 2026, following the declaration of Resolution No. 084, Series of 2026. This move came in response to widespread flooding caused by the Southwest Monsoon, locally known as “Habagat.”
Paniqui’s declaration preceded the provincial-wide State of Calamity declared by the Provincial Government of Tarlac on August 30, 2026, through Resolution No. 416-2026.
In a heartfelt message, Mayor Kat Roxas expressed her profound gratitude to LANDBANK, particularly its Paniqui Branch.
“Taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat sa Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) Paniqui Branch sa pagkakaloob ng ₱200,000 na tulong para sa ating mga kababayang Paniqueño na naapektuhan at nasalanta ng pagbaha,” Mayor Roxas said.
The mayor personally received the donation, which she said would be a massive help for the continuous relief and recovery efforts for families in need.
“Sa bawat tulong na dumarating, mas nararamdaman natin na hindi nag-iisa ang Paniqui sa pagbangon,” she added, emphasizing that the compassion and solidarity shown by institutions like LANDBANK are invaluable to their constituents, especially the most affected families.
The Municipal Government of Paniqui also expressed its appreciation to LANDBANK for its concern and unity during a time of great need. According to the local government, support from both private and public institutions is crucial to strengthening response and recovery efforts for communities devastated by the flooding.
The Pamahalaang Bayan continues to collaborate with various agencies, organizations, and partners to address the needs of Paniqueños affected by the disaster.
