SAN JOSE, Tarlac — Contrasting track conditions tested the country’s young motorcycle racers as Ace Esguerra and Renzzy Vigo split victories in Round 2 of the 2026 F.C.C. Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup (HPDC) held on June 6-7 at the Tarlac Circuit Hill.
Vigo dominated the dry opening race, clocking in 12:40.483 to secure the top spot while Jared Mendina and Zildjian Blanco settled for second and third, respectively.
“Nag-focus ako then yung mga late brakings ko, yung mga early gas, syempre yung utak mo focus ka sa race, yung nga kalaban mo kailangang i-beat mo para makapunta tayong P1,” Vigo said.
The momentum shifted in Race 2 after heavy rains drenched the venue as pole-sitter Ace Esguerra capitalized on the wet conditions, delivering a 1:17.358 fastest lap to clinch the victory over Vigo (P2) and Melchyzedek Ngo (P3).
According to Esguerra, his technique relied on studying the racing lines and securing a strong start to immediately break away from the pack.
The developmental racing series is organized by Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) to discover and hone the country’s next generation of motorsport champions.
“We are looking for more progress pa sa mga races and more training pa rin sa mga riders. Congratulations sa mga riders at sa lahat ng mga sponsors and sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta sa mga races natin,” HPDC head coach Dashi Watanabe said.
