Tarlac Gov’t honors OFWs, families in Migrant Workers Day celebration

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac — The Provincial Government of Tarlac recognized the vital economic contributions and sacrifices of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) during the recently held OFW Family Day at the Bulwagang Kanlahi at the Diwa ng Tarlac.

Vice Governor Lita Aquino led the June 9, 2026, celebration, urging sustained local government support for migrant workers and their families through targeted institutional programs.

“Kayo ang mga bagong bayani na sumusuporta sa ating bansa. Nararapat lamang na ang pamahalaan ay gumawa ng iba’t ibang proyekto para makatulong sa mga pamilya ng ating OFWs,” Aquino said.

The provincial government emphasized that the annual celebration aims to give due tribute to the migrant workers’ immense impact on the national economy and their dedication to uplifting their households across the province of Tarlac.

Highlighting the festive gathering were the “OFW Got Talent” competition and the distribution of raffle prizes to attendees.

Former governor and now Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap graced the occasion.
