CONCEPCION, Tarlac (May 11, 2026) — Tarlac 3rd District Congressman Noel “Bong” Rivera and Concepcion Vice Mayor Evelyn Rivera chose to turn challenges into compassion, bringing school supplies and hope to thousands of students across the district, continuing a tradition they have championed since the congressman’s days as a barangay captain in San Vicente.
On May 9, 2026, the couple personally led the distribution at Sta. Rosa Elementary School, where around 800 learners from kindergarten to Grade 6 received umbrellas, notebooks, pencils, and other essential school materials. The event was also attended by barangay officials, school principal Dr. Miguela H. Johansson, and teachers.
“Gyang nanu pa man ing datang a kapagsubukan, eke pa mu rin tuknang sumawup para karing kabalen tamu (Whatever trials come our way, we will not stop helping our fellow citizens),” Congressman Rivera said.
The couple also apologized for not being able to give bonuses to teachers during the annual Teacher’s Night in Concepcion, explaining that despite their current difficulties, they remain committed to serving the people.
Aside from Sta. Rosa Elementary School, they also distributed school supplies on the same day to San Agustin Elementary School, Parang Elementary School, and Mabilog Elementary School.
According to local sources, the distribution continued on May 11 at Talimundoc Elementary School, Tinang Elementary School, Pitabunan Elementary School, and Sta. Maria Elementary School. Schedules for other schools in the district are expected to be announced soon.
The school community of Sta. Rosa expressed their gratitude, saying: “Your thoughtful donation does not just provide materials for learning; it lights up the faces of every child, eases the burden of their parents, and fuels their dreams to strive harder in their studies.”
The Riveras’ unwavering dedication to education and public service continues to inspire many, proving that compassion and generosity can rise above any challenge.
