CAPAS, Tarlac (January 14, 2026) – Mayor Roseller “Boots” Rodriguez has officially signed the municipality’s 2026 Annual Budget, marking a historic milestone as Capas becomes the first and only municipality in the province of Tarlac to reach a billion-peso funding level.
The budget, which exceeds P1 billion, was finalized following a collaborative planning and approval process with the Sangguniang Bayan, led by Vice Mayor Alex Espinosa. According to Mayor Rodriguez, the record-breaking figure is a testament to the town’s administrative maturity and fiscal discipline.
“This budget tells a story of trust, discipline, and capacity,” Rodriguez said on his social media post last week.
The Mayor attributed the increased budget to the “orderly management and careful use of funds” over the previous years. He emphasized that the billion-peso mark serves as a metric for the municipality’s ability to not only initiate but also successfully complete and maintain vital public services.
The local government promises its residents that the higher budget will translate into more consistent services, improved systems, and faster community response. By minimizing waste through better fund management, the administration aims to redirect resources to where they are most needed.
Acknowledging the weight of the new fiscal milestone, Rodriguez noted that a larger budget necessitates a higher level of accountability.
“Mas mataas ang budget, mas mataas din ang responsibilidad. At sa taong ito, gagamitin natin ito para tiyaking bawat pisong inilaan ay nagiging konkretong serbisyo para sa inyo,” the mayor said.
The administration concluded the announcement with a pledge of transparency and purpose: “Maingat ang paggamit, malinaw ang patutunguhan.”
