Tarlac City continues accessible health services, delivers assistive devices

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (May 7, 2026) – Former governor and current City Mayor Susan Yap reaffirmed her commitment to bringing government services closer to the people, as her office recently delivered assistive devices to 18 beneficiaries right at their doorsteps.

Now as city mayor, Yap expressed joy that the same brand of compassionate service continues.

According to the local government, the Community Affairs team successfully extended assistance to 18 individuals as of May 5, 2026. Beneficiaries only needed to visit the mayor’s office to request the devices, which were then delivered to their homes within a few days.

The recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting that they no longer had to spend money to purchase the items since these were given to them for free.

Residents may request the assistive devices at the Community Affairs office, open Monday to Thursday.

PWDs Trained in Sustainable Entrepreneurship
In a related development, the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), with the continued support of Mayor Susan Yap, successfully conducted the Reach Independence & Sustainable Entrepreneurship (R.I.S.E Standard) seminar for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Tarlac City.

For three days, PWD leaders from 76 barangays—including presidents and members—gathered to strengthen their role in the community as advocates of change. The program aimed to enhance their knowledge toward more stable livelihoods and better living conditions while honing their skills in sustainable entrepreneurship.

The seminar was made possible with support from the Maybank Foundation, in partnership with People Systems Consultancy, and through collaboration with the PWD Federation and the Person with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).

With nearly 15,500 members of the PWD sector in Tarlac City, the initiative serves as a strong step toward a more inclusive, empowered, and progressive community.
