CAPAS, Tarlac (Nov. 18, 2023) — Tarlac now has five Balay Silangan Reformation Centers after Capas inaugurated the latest drug rehabilitation center in Barangay Cutcut 1st here.
The facility – jointly implemented by the local government and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – would serve as a temporary refuge for drug offenders as they receive intervention to become self-sufficient and law-abiding members of society.
Capas mayor Roseller “Boots” Rodriguez said that the new Balay Silangan is a testament to their commitment to helping former drug personalities reintegrate into society.
Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng tumulong upang maisakatuparan natin ito,” the Local Chief Executive said during the livestreamed event.
Balay Silangan is a requirement for every local government unit in the country to attain a drug-cleared status.
The other Balay Silangan facilities in Tarlac are in Gerona, Camiling, Victoria, and Moncada.
