TARLAKENYO (Apr. 10, 2023) — The Redmi Note 12 Series is set to launch on April 13, with the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G as the highest tier model.
This model is slightly thicker and heavier than the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, but has a similar design profile with more tapered edges and a glossy back panel. It has a 6.67-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the volume control and power button are located on the right side, while the USB Type-C charging port, speaker grill, and primary mic are located at the bottom.
The secondary speaker is at the top, along with the noise-canceling mic and IR blaster.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G has a triple camera setup with a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HPX sensor as the main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro lens. It can record videos up to 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 30/60fps, while the front-facing camera has 16MP with 1080p video recording at 30/60fps.
It is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 1080 chip with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, with an option for 12GB RAM. However, the storage uses the older UFS 2.2 technology, which has slower read and write speeds compared to newer versions.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G has a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged from 0% to 100% in just 19 minutes with its 120W HyperCharge.
Overall, the design and build quality of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G looks and feels premium and can be considered as a more affordable alternative to the flagship Xiaomi 13 series.
Xiaomi Philippines has yet to announce the prices for the Redmi Note 12 series, which will be available in Midnight Black, Sky Blue, and Polar White.
