CAPAS, Tarlac – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Capas formally turned over 12 newly procured service vehicles and heavy equipment on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Capas Event Center grounds.
The turnover and blessing of the new assets, which include multi-purpose vehicles, garbage trucks, patient transport units, and heavy equipment—marked a significant milestone for the municipality, as all acquisitions were made without incurring any debt.
According to the LGU, the procurement was made possible through prudent, responsible, and transparent fiscal management over the first semester of the year.
The newly acquired assets are expected to expand and accelerate the delivery of public services across the 20 barangays of Capas.
Among the vehicles and equipment turned over were a multi-purpose vehicle for the Bureau of Fire Protection, a Toyota Innova utility vehicle for the Capas Municipal Police Station, two patient transport vehicles for Barangays Manga and Sta. Lucia, and four garbage trucks for Barangays Estrada, Talaga, Manga, and O’Donnell.
Also turned over were a service vehicle for Barangay Bueno, a truck for the Engineering Office, and a manlift and a container van for the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Engineering Office.
Presiding over the ceremony, Mayor Roseller “Boots” Rodriguez emphasized that every peso entrusted by the people is being returned through projects that deliver genuine benefits to the community.
“Ang bawat pondong ipinagkatiwala ng taumbayan ay ibinabalik sa pamamagitan ng mga proyektong may tunay na pakinabang. Patuloy nating itatayo ang isang mas maayos, mas episyente, at mas maunlad na Capas para sa bawat mamamayan,” Mayor Rodriguez stated on his post.
The activity was attended by Vice Mayor Alex Espinosa, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, barangay captains, representatives from the PNP and BFP, and other municipal department heads.
The turnover underscores the local government’s commitment to improving public service delivery, particularly in emergency response, waste management, and barangay-level health transportation.
The new garbage trucks are expected to bolster the municipality’s solid waste management program, while the patient transport vehicles aim to provide better access to healthcare for residents in far-flung barangays.
With the addition of the manlift and container van, the MDRRMO and Engineering Office are also better equipped to handle disaster response and infrastructure maintenance.
The Capas LGU assured the public that it will continue to pursue initiatives that promote efficiency, development, and the overall well-being of every Capaseño.
