TARLAC CITY, Tarlac — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Tarlac City arrested two of the province’s most wanted persons wanted for multiple rape charges in separate operations on Friday.
The suspects were identified by P/Col. Grant Gollod, chief of the CIDG Regional Field Unit 3, as alias “Nic”, 24, who is the province’s No. 10 most wanted person and alias “Neil”, 19, who is in the province’s No. 8 most wanted list. Both were arrested during the police’s nationwide “Oplan Pagtugis” operation in Barangay San Sebastian, Tarlac City.
“Neil” was arrested for five counts of rape by sexual assault on a female with a warrant issued by Branch 11 of the Family Court, Third Judicial Region in Tarlac City. “Nic” was apprehended five minutes later on the same charges of five counts of rape by sexual assault.
CIDG Tarlac Provincial Field Unit led by P/Lt. Col. Arvin Hosmillo, with the support of Police Intelligence Team-Tarlac, Regional Intelligence Unit 3, 304th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion and Tarlac City Police Station were responsible for the operations.
Both suspects were taken to the CIDG Tarlac Provincial Field Unit for booking and handed over to the appropriate court for disposition of their cases.
“The arrests are part of the Philippine National Police intensified “Oplan Pagtugis”, an operation by the police aimed to arrest and apprehend persons with outstanding warrants for their arrest to bring them before the court and improve public safety,” Gollod said.
