TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Tarlac recognized the outstanding achievements of local government units and key stakeholders during its Awarding Ceremony held on June 16, 2026, at the Old SP Hall, Tarlac Capitol.
The event celebrated excellence in governance, financial management, and social welfare service delivery, bringing together Provincial Governor Christian Yap, municipal mayors, Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs), and Social Welfare and Development Officers (C/MSWDOs) from across the province.
CFLGA Seal and Certificates of Recognition
A highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) Seal to deserving local government units that demonstrated exemplary performance in upholding the standards of good local governance. Certificates of Recognition were also awarded to CFLGA passers in acknowledgment of their remarkable accomplishments.
Good Financial Housekeeping Awardees
Local Government Units that successfully passed the 2025 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) assessment likewise received Certificates of Recognition for their steadfast commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound fiscal management.
Appreciation for Frontline Partners
Recognizing the invaluable contributions of frontline government partners, DILG Tarlac awarded Certificates of Appreciation to C/MSWDOs and C/MLGOOs for their unwavering dedication to the implementation of DILG programs and the advancement of local governance initiatives across the province.
Governor Yap Leads Peace and Order Council Meeting
Earlier in the day, Governor Christian Yap presided over the Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) for the second quarter of 2026.
The meeting was attended by 18 municipal and city mayors, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), national government agencies, and various local government units.
Commitment to Peace and Security
In his address, Governor Yap expressed gratitude to the Philippine National Police for maintaining Tarlac’s status as the most peaceful province in the region.
“It’s going to continue to improve, after the collaboration of local governments and the Philippine National Police,” Yap stated.
He also thanked the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for the province’s drug-free status, the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, and the Bureau of Fire Protection for their collaborative efforts in fire safety programs.
The Governor acknowledged updates from the Supreme Court aimed at expediting case handling and improving prison conditions in the province.
A Reaffirmation of Shared Commitment
The awarding ceremony served not only as recognition of accomplishments but also as a reaffirmation of the shared commitment of DILG Tarlac and local government stakeholders to foster good governance, strengthen institutions, and improve the lives of Tarlaqueños through effective and people-centered leadership.
