TARLAC CTY, Tarlac (April 24, 2026) — In a bid to strengthen public safety and improve mobility in communities, the Provincial Government of Tarlac (PGT) has successfully turned over 26 tuk-tuk tricycles to selected barangays across the province.
The turnover ceremony took place in front of the Tarlac Capitol on Thursday, April 23, marking a significant step in enhancing the capability of barangay officials and peacekeepers to respond swiftly to incidents and maintain order in their respective areas.
The initiative, led by Governor Christian Yap in collaboration with Vice Governor Lita Aquino and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Tarlac, aims to expand the presence of authorities in communities and ensure faster response to emergencies, disasters, and daily transportation needs.
Governor Yap said the distribution of tuktuks supports more accessible transportation in barangays, emphasizing: “Layunin po natin na mapalapit ang serbisyo sa mamamayan at makatulong sa mas mabilis na pagresponde sa pangangailangan ng bawat barangay mula sa pang-emergency hanggang sa araw-araw na transportasyon.“
One of the recipients, Barangay Captain Rommel Alejo of Mayantoc, expressed his gratitude for the assistance.
“Maraming salamat po sa Provincial Government ng Tarlac, kay Gov. Christian Yap. Malaking tulong po sa barangay po namin ito kasi maganda siyang gamitin ng mga bantay bayan po namin para mapanatili natin ang katahimikan ng barangay.“
Other barangay captains also thanked the provincial government, noting that the vehicles would greatly aid in the implementation of peace and order initiatives as mandated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), as well as in responding to emergencies and calamities.
The distribution of tuk-tuk tricycles is part of the provincial government’s ongoing commitment to promote a safer, more orderly, and well-connected Tarlac.
