Paniqui’s Ferrer wins 9-ball title in Indonesia

PANIQUI, Tarlac (February 4, 2026) — A new champion has brought pride to his hometown. Alexis Ferrer, a rising pool player from Paniqui, Tarlac, won the 2026 WWW Billiard 9-Ball Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia on February 3, Tuesday night.

Ferrer showed great skill in the final match, beating Indonesian player Bachrain Rauf with a score of 9-5. With this victory, he took home the champion’s prize of 60 million Indonesian rupiah (around P200,000).

“Naka isa din! Maraming salamat po!” Ferrer wrote on his social media post. “Gumana na ‘yong spider web!”

This win comes right after a strong performance days earlier at the Asian Men’s 10-Ball Championship, where Ferrer reached the semifinals.

The new champion is not coming home just yet. He is staying in Indonesia with other top Filipino players like Carlo Biado and Johann Chua. They will all compete in the Carabao International 9-Ball Open starting this Wednesday.

Alexis Ferrer is quickly becoming a known name in international pool. With this major win in Jakarta and a previous title in Vietnam, the young player from Paniqui is proving he is a true rising star in the sports.
