CAPAS, Tarlac — Public school teachers in Capas have something extra to celebrate ahead of Teachers’ Day, as the local government unit (LGU) has officially authorized the release of the Instructional Materials Allowance (IMA) for the current school year.
Mayor Roseller “Boots” Rodriguez issued the directive for the disbursement of the allowance, which will benefit a total of 1,312 public school teachers across Capas.
Under the directive, each eligible teacher will receive ₱4,000. The financial assistance is intended to cover the four-month period from June to September 2026, helping educators procure necessary classroom supplies and instructional resources.
In a significant shift from previous practices, the Capas LGU announced that the funds are now being disbursed directly through the teachers’ ATM accounts. This digital disbursement method replaces the manual, in-person payouts that teachers had to endure in previous years.
The local government highlighted that the shift to digital disbursement offers greater convenience by eliminating long queues. It also allows teachers to access their financial support safely and without disrupting their classes.
The release of the allowance comes with a warm greeting from the LGU: “Happier Teachers’ Day!”
