ANAO, Tarlac (May 5, 2026) – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Anao, led by Mayor Gian Pierre De Dios and Vice Mayor Concepcion Almazan, rolled out two major assistance initiatives this week aimed at bolstering agriculture and disaster preparedness across the municipality.
The distribution was held on Monday, May 4, 2026, during the flag ceremony at Carlos “Charlie” O. Cojuangco Municipal Building.
Disaster response equipment
Under the first initiative, the LGU provided critical equipment and tools to the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMCs).
The move seeks to strengthen the response capabilities of frontliners during emergencies and calamities. “By equipping our frontliners with the necessary tools, the LGU reinforces its commitment to ensuring the safety, resilience, and well-being of every Anoeño,” the local government said.
Inbred seeds for farmers
In a separate ceremonial turnover, the LGU also distributed inbred seeds to different barangays to support local farmers.
The program aims to provide quality planting materials to increase productivity and promote a more sustainable agricultural sector. According to the LGU, the initiative is part of its continuing commitment to strengthen food security and uplift the livelihood of the farming community in Anao.
Mayor De Dios and Vice Mayor Almazan personally led the distribution, which was attended by barangay captains and beneficiaries.
Both programs form part of the LGU’s broader strategy to integrate disaster resilience with agricultural development.
