ANAO, Tarlac (Jan. 27, 2026) – In a move to strengthen local economic development and entrepreneurship, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Tarlac Field Office awarded a ₱600,000 livelihood grant to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Anao on January 22, 2026.
The grant was formally presented during a courtesy visit by the new DOLE Tarlac Provincial Director, Jason P. Ocampo, who was warmly welcomed by Municipal Mayor Gian Pierre De Dios. The visit, which included DOLE Senior Labor and Employment Officers Jumel A. Vitao, Lourdes M. Solomon, and Edmyross C. Tolentino, aimed to reinforce the partnership and cooperation between the national agency and the municipal government.
The financial assistance, designated as Livelihood Enhancement assistance, is earmarked for two local community associations: the Malikhaing Mamamayan ng Anao, Inc. and the Ylang-Ylang Fragrance Association. Each association will receive ₱300,000 worth of additional capital in the form of raw materials, tools, and equipment to bolster their existing business ventures.
Anao is renowned for its ylang-ylang–based products, an industry in which both beneficiary groups specialize. This targeted support is expected to enhance production capacity, sustain livelihoods, and promote the town’s unique aromatic products.
Municipal Mayor Gian Pierre De Dios expressed gratitude for the continued support from DOLE, highlighting the grant’s role in empowering local enterprises and fostering inclusive growth within the municipality.
The initiative underscores the shared commitment of DOLE and the LGU to advance sustainable livelihood programs, support entrepreneurship, and drive community-led development in Anao.
