CAPAS, Tarlac (Nov. 15, 2023) — The New Clark City will again play host to an international sporting event as the Asian Duathlon Championships is slated to be staged here on Nov. 26.
The Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TriPhil) said that they expect around 50 world-class athletes from Australia, Cambodia, Singapore, and Indonesia to join the tournament.
TriPhil is focusing on other major international events since the country has no triathlete who qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Among the international tournaments being eyed are the 2025 Thailand Southeast Asian Games, the 2026 Senegal Youth Olympic Games, and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
āThis is the reason why our elite, high-performance athletes are really training hard locally and abroad, to be able for them to meet all the ranking points to qualify for the next Olympics,ā said TriPhil Secretary General Sarita Zafra.
