CAMP AQUINO, Tarlac City (Sept. 26, 2023) — The Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) based here assures the safety and security of all polling precincts in Regions 1, 2, 3 and the Cordillera Administrative Region in the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) next month.
“NOLCOM forces throughout northern and central Luzon stand prepared to offer assistance to the PNP, PCG, and COMELEC in safeguarding polling locations and ensuring the well-being of voters,” NOLCOM Commander Lt. Gen. Fernyl Buca said during the Area Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Committee (JPSCC) Meeting held at the Cordillera Hall of Camp Servillano Aquino last week.
The JPSSC was attended by Police Maj. Gen. Jon Arnaldo, Acting Commander of Area Police Command-Northern Luzon (APC-NL) also supported the initiative of NOLCOM for the safe conduct of the BSKE 2023.
The security committee concluded with NOLCOM, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, APC-NL, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the Police Regional Offices all committing to enhance coordination efforts. They also agreed to finalize troop augmentation and deployment plans, jointly identify isolated areas, and develop contingency plans for transportation and communication issues during the BSKE.
