Hernandez is incoming TPRC prexy

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (Aug. 5, 2023) — The Tarlac Press and Radio Club elected its new set of officers today during its 59th TPRC Election and Convention.

The 45-member media group from the print, broadcast, and online industries elected Jerry Hernandez of the Manila Times as President, Reglendor Puno of Tarlac Pointers as Vice President, Ronaldo Dizon of Tarlakenyo.com as Secretary, Maricon Roque as Treasurer, Kathleen Garcia as Assistant Treasurer, Gina Hapitan as Auditor, Rex Abagat of Tarlac Forum as Public Relations Officer, and Billy Nuqui of Bulgaran as Business Manager.

The incoming Board of Directors are the following: Alfredo Fausto of Tarlac Weekly Post, Dina Diaz of Tarlac Insider, Willie Santos of Tarlac Standard, Jay Austria of Tarlac Standard, Leandro Alborote, Eleasar Bulanadi of Tarlac Weekly Post, Ana Leah Constantino, Ruben Pascual, Marisa Abagat of Tarlac Forum, Benny Aquino, Menchie Hernandez of Tarlac Informer, Alice Frio of DWXT, Anna Cardona of Radyo Pilipino, Erli Duduaco, and Arvin Cabalu of Tarlac Standard.

“This is a big challenge since I have big shoes to fill as past presidents of TPRC all have made their marks in the journalism local scene, but I am up to the challenge,” Hernandez said.

Outgoing President Leng Tiamzon thanked all past presidents for their support and assured Hernandez that he will always have hers as well.

Tiamzon, in her speech, highlighted the importance of giving back to the community.

“Giving back to the community, regardless of form, helping those in need is one of the priorities,” the veteran radio broadcaster said.

She mentioned the charitable donations made to the Concepcion Scholarship Foundation and to several hospitalized members, aside from the hand pumps donated in Brgy. San Pablo in Tarlac City.
