CONCEPCION, Tarlac (June 1, 2023) — More weighbridge stations are being set up along the North Luzon Expressway and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway to prevent overloaded trucks from using the roads.
Republic Act 8794, or the “Act Imposing a Motor Vehicle Users’ Charge on Owners of all Types of Motor Vehicle and for Other Purposes” has an anti-overloading provision.
The measures aim to promote motorist safety and prevent early deterioration of roads caused by overloading and improve the efficient movement of cargo.
The latest weighbridge stations are located in SCTEX Porac, Pampanga, and in this town’s section of the expressway.
NLEX also strictly enforces the 33-ton weight limit on the Candaba Viaduct southbound.
