DILG’s Abalos addresses Tarlac LGUs’ concerns

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (May 31, 2023) — Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr met with Tarlac officials yesterday to address issues on local governance.

The 18 Tarlac local governments raised their concerns about the upcoming Seal of Good Local Governance Assessment where three important indicators are to be vetted – local revenue growth rate, local development fund utilization, and appointment of a Public Employment Service Officer.

The DILG Secretary also underscored the contributions of LGUs in “sustaining a peaceful and orderly community by combatting illegal drugs and criminality” as well as the need to prioritize health care by ending Tuberculosis.
