DAR hiring more lawyers

TARLAKENYO (June 4, 2023) — The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved hiring 64 additional lawyers to speed up land dispute resolutions.

Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado Estrella III cited the lack of lawyers as a factor in unresolved agrarian cases.

According to the DBM, a DAR lawyer’s basic salary will be P82,000 per month to help entice lawyers to apply as public servants in resolving land disputes.

Last week, Estrella announced the resolution of the three-decades-old land dispute in Hacienda Tinang in Concepcion, Tarlac.

Almost 200 has. of agricultural land will soon be distributed to 450 farmer-beneficiaries.
