NLV assures public on disaster preparedness

CONCEPCION, Tarlac (October 23, 2024) – Mayor Noel Villanueva has reassured the community of Concepcion’s robust disaster preparedness protocols. With the looming threat of severe weather conditions, the town’s Disaster Risk Reduction Office, Health Units, and other emergency services are on high alert and ready to respond.

Mayor Villanueva emphasized the importance of community readiness in the face of potential disasters. Concepcion is under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 as tropical storm ‘Kristine’ brings strong winds and rain.

“We understand that our region is prone to various natural calamities, and we must ensure that our emergency units are well-prepared and equipped to handle any situation,” he stated.

The chief executive highlighted that the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office has been conducting regular drills and training sessions for emergency personnel, enhancing their skills and response times. Additionally, local health units are stocked with essential supplies, ensuring immediate medical assistance can be provided.

Villanueva urged residents to stay informed and prepared as well.

“We encourage everyone to create their emergency plans, stock essential supplies, and stay updated on weather advisories,” he added.

The town has also set up a communication network to disseminate timely information to the community, ensuring that residents are aware of any developments.

As part of their preparedness efforts, Concepcion’s local government has established evacuation routes and designated safe shelters to accommodate residents in case of an emergency.

“We are all in this together, and our top priority is the safety and well-being of our community,” Villanueva said.
