TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (Feb. 2, 2026) ā In a dual milestone for the provinceās law enforcement and media relations, the PNP Camp Macabulos Press Corps officially marked its revival today, February 2, coinciding with the assumption of Police Colonel Joel Mendoza as the new Provincial Director of the Tarlac Police Provincial Office.
The reactivation of the media group aims to bridge the gap in communication that had left the previous press organization stagnant for an extended period.
During his first official interaction with the local press, PD Mendoza emphasized the vital role of journalists in maintaining public order.
He noted that the police and the media serve as two sides of the same coin in ensuring community safety.
“The police and the media should always work together, especially in information dissemination,” PD Mendoza stated during a brief interview.
The statement comes as a welcome shift for local reporters, who noted that the previous media group had become largely inactive, characterized by a lack of meetings and a total absence of official press releases.
To ensure the organization remains functional and transparent, a new set of officers and Board of Directors was established.
Leading the charge for the revitalized press corps is Ronald Alborote of Provider News. The newly elected executive team and board members include: Vice President Dina Diaz of Tarlac Insider, Treasurer Beth Gonzales (Ups & Downers), Secretary Menchie Hernandez (Tarlac Informer), Business Manager Grace Sansano (DZRH), and Auditor Angel Faith Danganan (Central Luzon Balita). The Board of Directors is rounded out by veteran journalists and broadcasters: Boni Dacayanan (Facts & Figures), Ronald Dizon (Tarlakenyo.com), Noel Diaz (Tarlac Insider), Ismael Mateo (Net 25), Cris Sansano (TV5), and Aser Bulanadi (Jelexie Radio).
