CAPAS, Tarlac — The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has officially granted an initial permit to the Lyceum of Capas on July 2, making it the first local community college in the entire Province of Tarlac to receive such accreditation.
The issuance of the permit officially authorizes the newly established institution to begin its first phase of operations and accept students for the upcoming academic year.
For its initial opening, CHED has approved two degree programs: the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) and the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd).
In his social media post, Mayor Roseller “Boots” Rodriguez announced that student slots will be strictly limited in the meantime due to the early stage of school operations and ongoing campus construction.
The mayor also appealed to the public for patience while promising expanded opportunities in the coming years as infrastructure developments progress.
Rodriguez noted that the local government intends to introduce additional courses and more enrollment slots by next year.
