CAMILING, Tarlac (May 29, 2023) – Fire engulfed the dry goods section of this town’s public market early yesterday afternoon.
Business owners tried to save their livelihoods as they fought to salvage whatever they could from their stalls.
The fire raged for several hours before About 20 firetrucks were dispatched from nearby municipalities of Santa Ignacia, Paniqui, Moncada, Capas, San Manuel, Tarlac City, Mayantoc, and Bayambang in Pangasinan, to put out the fire that lasted several hours.
There were no reported casualties from the fire that affected 347 stall owners.
The Bureau of Fire Protection of Camiling is still investigating the fire’s cause and assessing the affected area’s structural integrity.
