PANIQUI, Tarlac — The municipal government of Paniqui, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), conducted a three-day crochet training program aimed at equipping local women with additional skills for income generation.
The training, initiated by Ma’am Melissa Yap in coordination with PESO Paniqui, was supported by Mayor Kat Roxas, who underscored the importance of creating livelihood opportunities for the town’s women.
The mayor emphasized that the local government will continue to push for programs that provide more opportunities for women to learn, improve their skills, and earn additional income.
The crochet training is part of broader efforts by the Paniqui local government to promote women’s economic empowerment through skills development. Roxas, who became the town’s first female mayor following the 2025 elections , has consistently prioritized programs for women and livelihood development.
The initiative aligns with national government programs that target women and vulnerable sectors for skills training and livelihood assistance to mitigate economic challenges .
The training was conducted over three days, focusing on practical skills that participants can use for small-scale entrepreneurship or home-based livelihood activities.
The local chief executive reaffirmed her commitment to the women of Paniqui, stating, “Para sa ating mga kababaihan, lagi po kayong may suporta sa akin.”
