CONCEPCION, Tarlac — Seventy-five farmers here received crop insurance assistance on September 18, 2026, at the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) to recover from agricultural losses caused by recent typhoons and the southwest monsoon.
Lester Yuzon Aguilar of the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) Region III and MAO Head Juanito Lindo Jr. led the check distribution event.
Lindo highlighted the impact of the financial support on local agriculture.
“Malaking tulong ito sa ating mga magsasaka, lalo na sa mga naapektuhan ng mga kalamidad. Sa pamamagitan nito, nabibigyan sila ng karagdagang suporta upang makabangon at makapagsaka muli,” Lindo said.
The PCIC provides compensation to qualified farmers who suffer agricultural losses from covered risks. This financial relief helps growers address immediate needs and resume farming operations.
Region III includes 9,636 beneficiary farmers as part of a nationwide rollout providing P187 million in claims to 24,987 farmers. The national allocation includes P132.9 million for rice farmers, P42.1 million for high-value crops, and P9.3 million for corn producers.
