TARLAKENYO — The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – Tarlac Extension Office issued a stern warning to the public against using unauthorized online lending platforms (OLPs) offering quick loans through mobile applications and websites.
The agency noted that unrecorded OLPs continuing to process loan products without proper authorization blatantly violate existing regulations. Violating companies face severe administrative sanctions, including cease and desist orders, permanent closure, blacklisting, and the filing of appropriate legal charges.
The SEC strongly advised citizens to avoid falling victim to fraudulent applications. To ensure secure transactions, the public must verify the official list of registered platforms through the SEC website.
