Gerona Community College granted CHED permit for BSOA Program

GERONA, Tarlac – The Municipality of Gerona has reached another significant milestone in its pursuit of quality higher education as the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office III officially granted the Permit to Operate for the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) program of Gerona Community College (GCC), effective Academic Year 2026–2027.

The permit, issued on July 13, 2026, signifies that the program has successfully complied with the standards and requirements set by CHED, ensuring that students will receive quality instruction and training aligned with national higher education standards.

The approval came following the final evaluation conducted by the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on November 14, 2025, where the institution was found compliant in all key result areas.

Mayor May Eclar, Chairperson of the Gerona Community College Board of Trustees, expressed her elation over the achievement, describing it as “another proud milestone for Gerona.”

“This remarkable accomplishment reflects our unwavering commitment to providing quality, accessible, and relevant higher education for every Geronian,” Mayor Eclar stated.

She added, “More than a permit, it is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and shared vision of the Gerona Community College administration, faculty, staff, and the Local Government Unit of Gerona in uplifting the lives of our youth through education.”

The addition of the BSOA program expands educational opportunities for aspiring college students in the municipality, granting them greater access to affordable and quality education without having to leave their community. The program is designed to prepare students for meaningful careers in office administration and management.

The Municipality of Gerona extended its sincere congratulations to the entire Gerona Community College community and reaffirmed its commitment to continuously strengthening educational programs that contribute to the development of skilled, competent, and future-ready Geronians.

In accordance with CMO No. 14, series of 2019, the institution has been given two years to secure the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) upon full compliance with CHED minimum requirements.

The permission to offer the program shall remain valid provided the institution operates in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines and complies with CHED rules and regulations.

Interested applicants are advised to wait for the official announcement regarding the enrollment schedule and admission procedures, which will be released through the official communication channels of Gerona Community College.

The local government remains steadfast in advancing education, recognizing that every success of the youth is a victory for the entire Municipality of Gerona.
