Gov. Yap eyes QC’s integrated transit system for Tarlac

QUEZON CITY — Governor Christian Yap led a high-level delegation to Quezon City on Friday to conduct a comprehensive study of the capital city’s integrated transportation network, as part of a broader initiative to modernize and improve mobility services for the province.

The official visit, which took place on July 17, saw Governor Yap and his team observe the seamless integration of Quezon City’s multi-modal transport system.

This system effectively connects heavy rail lines—the MRT-3 and LRT-2—with traditional jeepneys, modernized public utility vehicles (PUVs), and the city’s fleet of free, Wi-Fi-equipped Q City E-Buses, which currently operate on eight major routes.

Governor Yap expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and the valuable exchange of best practices, emphasizing his commitment to bringing similar advancements to Tarlac.

He added that they will not relent in their pursuit of a better transportation system, assuring that every Tarlakenyo will ultimately benefit from their initiatives.

The Governor was accompanied by a team of key provincial officials, led by Provincial Administrator Dr. Krishna Buenaventura, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Marcos Alfonso, and Provincial Planning and Development Officer Engr. Fernando Galieto.

Also joining the delegation were Provincial Equipment Pool Officer and concurrent Provincial General Services Officer Engr. Raymundo Cancio, Executive Assistant Atty. Malou Navarro, and members of their respective offices.

The delegation aims to utilize the insights gained from the Quezon City model to enhance the safety, efficiency, and accessibility of transportation for residents across Tarlac.
