TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (February 3, 2026) – A total of 145 student beneficiaries from across the province received their 40% cash payout from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during a distribution event at the Bulwagan ng mga Gobernador on February 2.
The payout is part of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES), a yearly initiative that offers temporary employment to students aged 15 to 30, helping them earn while they learn.
The activity was made possible through the partnership of the Provincial Government of Tarlac and DOLE, with support from the Tarlac Provincial Public Employment Service Office.
Governor Christian Tell Yap led the event, congratulating the students for completing their 20-day on-site work experience. In his message, Gov. Yap said:
“Congratulations sa inyong lahat, napaka-importante na ma experience niyo na makapag trabaho sa kapitolyo dahil ang mga natutunan niyo ay maaari niyong magamit sa inyong kinabukasan. Maraming salamat sa inyong naging kontribusiyon sa ating institusyon, at sana marami rin kayong natutunan dito sa ating Provincial Government.”
Each student received ₱12,300 for their service. The Provincial Government had already released its 60% counterpart of the SPES wages in September 2025.
Jason Ocampo, Chief of Labor and Employment of DOLE–Tarlac, also attended the event and expressed gratitude to the provincial government for its strong support of the youth.
“We are very thankful sa Provincial Government of Tarlac dahil una kayo [mga estudyante],” Ocampo said.
The program aims to provide financial help to students and encourage them to continue their education while gaining early work experience.
Gov. Yap assured the youth of the provincial government’s continued support, saying:
“Sa ating mga kabataan—ipagpatuloy ninyo ang pangarap. Nandito ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Tarlac upang umalalay at sumuporta sa inyo.”
The SPES payout is part of the province’s ongoing effort to promote education and livelihood opportunities for young Tarlaqueños.
