TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (October 24, 2024) — Governor Susan Yap added a heartwarming touch to the Christmas lighting at SM City Tarlac by purchasing all the āBears of Joyā on display at the mall’s charity booth. The Bears of Joy campaign allows shoppers to buy a pair of teddy bearsāone to keep and one to donate to a child in need. In a spontaneous act of generosity, Yap distributed the donated bears to children present in the mall, spreading love and joy.
“Bears of Joy, it’s one of their [SM City] campaigns — the Guardians of Emotion, [each] representing a key feeling that makes the holiday season so special. I ask everyone, sa lahat po ng narito ngayon, to support this charitable and very noble activity,” Governor Yap urged.
Yap showed that she could walk the talk as she led Tarlac City’s Vice Mayor Aro Mendoza, Councilors Emy Ladera-Facunla, Vlad Rodriguez, Ricky Diolazo, Win-win Manalang, and Ato Chua in purchasing all the bears on display at the booth — they gave 10 children who were nearby a bear each and another 10 bears went into the donation box.
The āBears of Joyā campaign offers mall-goers the chance to buy not just one but two teddy bears. For P280, shoppers can purchase a bear for themselves and donate another to a child in need. These plush toys are more than just a giftāthey become symbols of care, comfort, and love, especially for children who might not otherwise experience the joys of the holiday season.
This year, meet Mikah, Ash, Bree, and Ronnie ā the brand-new squad that will bring you more than just holiday cheer this Christmas season. For only ā±280, ‘Buy One. Donate One,’ with the #SMBearsofJoy2024. The selling period is until December 25, 2024, only at the Upper Ground Level of SM City Tarlac.
