Concepcion Government Center breaks ground

CONCEPCION, Tarlac (Oct. 4, 2023) — After almost 100 years, this town will see a new local government building rise.

The New Government Center broke ground today on a two-hectare allotment in Barangay Alfonso where a two-story, 7,200 sqm government center will rise. It is estimated to be completed in 2025 at a total cost of around P500 million.

The existing municipal building was built in 1929, costing a mere P50,000.

The New Concepcion Government Center will also house national offices, including the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Social Security System, Government Service Insurance System, Department of the Interior, and Local Government, among others.

Provincial officials and other municipalities’ Local Chief Executives witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony, culminating in the lowering of a time capsule with a copy of the construction plans.

Governor Susan Yap and the province’s three Congressional Representatives – Rep. Jaime Cojuangco of the 1st District, Rep. Christian Yap of the 2nd District, and Rep. Noel Rivera of the 3rd District; Mayors Jappy de Dios (Anao), Alice Guo (Bamban), Eloy Eclar (Gerona), Venus Jordan (La Paz), Iluminado Pobre (Mayantoc), Lita Aquino (Moncada), Celso Banag (Ramos), Nora Modomo (Sta. Ignacia), and Rex Villa Agustin (Victoria), were in attendance to show support to Concepcion Mayor Noel Villanueva.

“Itong araw na ito ay punung-puno ng pag-asa para sa isang magandang kinabukasan para sa ating bayan. Ang ating Government Center na itatayo ngayon ay pundasyon ng isang mas makabuluhang at mas epektibong paglilingkod para sa ating sambayanan dito sa bayan ng Concepcion,” Villanueva said, addressing local officials and scores of Concepcionenses who were also in attendance.

Vice-Mayor Carla Bautista and her Council Members Sein Gomez, Erwin James Villanueva, Jayson Lagman, Calvin Sardia, Nics Santos, Carlo Avena, and Boy Mandal also witnessed the momentous occasion.
