TARELCO II, Concepcion LGU, join hands in bloodletting drive

CONCEPCION, Tarlac (August 2, 2023) — The Local Government here, Tarlac Electric Cooperative II (TARELCO II), and the Philippine National Red Cross Tarlac embarked on a much-needed bloodletting activity this morning.

The activity this morning at the TARELCO II’s corporate offices drew scores of donors led by the Armor Pambato Division of the Philippine Army.

According to TSgt. Romulo Sumera, along with 23 members of his group, donate every year and whenever someone needs it.

Some residents of this town also became first-time blood donors as they joined members of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Capas Freedom Warriors Matikas Eagles Club.

“It is hoped that such activities will continue so that more people will be given the opportunity to be a part of helping others,” said Municipal Health Officer Dr. Raymund Valdez.

Donors were given 20 kilos of rice from the electric cooperative as a ‘thank you’.

One of the main goals of bloodletting activity is to help those who need blood in times of emergency, such as accident victims, patients who need surgery, and other medical needs. Through these activities, the need for blood supplies in hospitals and medical facilities is strengthened and alleviated.

The said activity took place as part of the groups’ efforts to spread awareness about the importance of blood and support people who need it.
