TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (June 12, 2023) — The COVID-19 infections in the province registered an uptick from 15.6 to 23.5 percent for the week of June 5 – 11.
According to OCTA Research, the seven-day positivity rate in Tarlac increased to 7.9% compared to a week earlier. As of June 12, the province has 129 active cases, 10 of which were added today.
Pampanga joined Tarlac as among the only Central Luzon provinces with an increase in positivity rate, registering 29.9% from 27.5% a week ago. Bulacan’s rate fell to 12.5% from 19.9%; Zambales also saw a significant decrease to 17.5% from 21.6%.
Pangasinan also saw a decrease to 19.4% from 23.2%.
The National Capital Region also saw a drop in positivity rate to 11.6% from 16.7%.
Based on the Department of Healthās COVID-19 tracker, the countryās total caseload currently lies at 4,155,758 with 10,761 active cases, 4,078,516 recoveries, and 66,481 deaths as of Monday, June 12.
OCTA Research expects daily coronavirus cases in the country would likely fall to fewer than 1,000 starting this week.
