CONCEPCION, Tarlac (May 11, 2023) — In order to safeguard children from the potentially serious consequences of measles, rubella, and polio, this May 1-31, it is recommended that all children aged four years and under receive vaccinations against these diseases.
The measles and rubella (MR) vaccine is recommended for children between 9 to 59 months, while the polio vaccine (OPV) is recommended for children between 0 to 59 months.
Additionally, Vitamin A supplementation can also help boost children’s immune systems.
It is important to note that no child should have to suffer from these preventable diseases, especially when vaccinations are available.
As of May 10, 2023, Capas, San Manuel, and Concepcion are leading in the number of measles-rubella vaccinations administered.
In Concepcion, out of the target population of 12,758 individuals, a total of 9,994 have been vaccinated, representing a vaccination rate of 78.3%. Meanwhile, 2,764 individuals remain unvaccinated, representing 21.7% of the target population.
“Protektahan natin ang ating mga anak laban sa mga nakamamatay na sakit na ito.
“Dalhin sila sa pinakamalapit na barangay health center o itinalagang vaccination sites sa ating barangay o di kaya naman ay patuluyin ang team ng mga nurse at midwife na magbabakuna sa inyong mga tahanan,” said Mayor Noel L. Villanueva.
Don’t wait until it’s too late – act now to keep your children safe and healthy!
