This is the result of the roll-out of the Paleng-QR Ph Plus initiative here in cooperation with mobile wallet GCash.
Market vendors and tricycle drivers in this western town’s Public Market can easily transact with their customers through GCash QR codes.
According to the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Department of the Interior and Local Government, this initiative will boost the growth of the digital ecosystem, especially in the grassroots economy.
With Paleng-QR, locals can also access GTreats in the GCash booth at the Camiling Public Market for special deals and promos when they pay using GCash.
GCash has so far onboarded a total of 553 market vendors in Camiling Public Market and more than 150 Tricycle Operators/Drivers Association to allow payment through the e-wallet.
