TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (May 18, 2023) — Mayor Cristy Angeles of this lone city in the province received recognition as one of the top city mayors in Central Luzon.
The survey was part of the national poll “RPMD’s Boses ng Bayan” conducted between Feb. 25 and March 8, 2023, by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPMD).
The survey’s primary aim was to critically assess the performance of City Mayors in Region 3, with a specific focus on the Central Luzon area. The evaluation criteria were based on seven fundamental parameters: service delivery, financial management, economic development, governance and leadership, environmental management, social services, and public engagement.
Mayor Arthur Robes of San Jose del Monte City topped the Region 3 survey with a score of 89.75%. Angeles, meanwhile, got 84.67%.
Rounding up the Top 5 were Mayor Joy Pascual of Gapan (83.48%), Mayor Henry Villarica of Meycauayan (83.12%), Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. of Olongapo (80.85%), and Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. of Angeles (78.92%).
The nationwide survey was performed per district in all Philippine regions, with a total of 10,000 respondents who were registered voters.
According to RPMD, the surveys “enhance public service transparency by providing an impartial insight into the work of city mayors. This transparency makes their actions and decisions more accessible and comprehensible to the public.”
