Apple announced goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030

TARLAKENYO (Apr. 09, 2023) Apple recently declared its intention to make all its products carbon-neutral by 2030.

According to a statement on Apple’s media page, its manufacturing partners now support more than 13 gigawatts of renewable electricity globally, a roughly 30% increase over the previous year.

This indicates that by 2030, all Apple production will be powered by renewable energy at more than 250 suppliers spread across 28 nations.

The smartphone manufacturer revealed that 27 US-based suppliers have already adopted Apple’s Sustainable Energy Program with tremendous success. It mentioned Coherent Corp., which is presently utilizing a green utility program to reach that 2030 end target, and Bemis Associates, which has achieved 100% renewable electricity for all Apple-related production.
Apple claims that 70 of its Chinese suppliers are similarly committed to using only renewable energy sources for electricity.

Apple’s $4.7 billion investment in green bonds, which is funding the global expansion of sustainable energy solutions and emissions reductions, is one of the company’s primary initiatives in its carbon-neutral agenda. According to Apple, its 2022 Green Bond funding will be mostly dedicated to large-scale solar, low-carbon architecture, energy efficiency, and carbon removal.
