Concepcion candidates sign peace pact

CONCEPCION, Tarlac (Feb. 27, 2025) — Local candidates here signed a peace covenant to ensure a harmonious electoral process in the May national and local elections.

Mayor Noel Villanueva led re-electionists and aspirants in pledging their commitment to clean, free, and peaceful elections.

“I hope that the town of Concepcion will remain united despite our political differences. I also hope that the coming campaign and elections will be orderly, peaceful, and clean,” Villanueva said.

The covenant signing also included a “unity walk” which saw members of the ruling Nationalist People’s Coalition – Team Luv Ko ‘To, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, led by former mayor Andres Lacson and Vice-Mayor Carla Bautista, and independent candidates. The pact was preceded by a Mass at the Immaculate Concepcion Parish Church.

The activity was organized by the Commission on Elections, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Philippine National Police, and other civic groups.
