TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (March 31, 2026) — Motorists traveling between Tarlac and Nueva Ecija can now enjoy a significantly shorter commute following the formal opening of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) Contract Package 4 on Tuesday.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of the final segment, which successfully links the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX) directly to this city.
The newly operational section extends the expressway from the San Juan Interchange in Aliaga to the Cabanatuan exit. This completion marks the end of Phase 1 for the 29.2-kilometer, four-lane project, effectively slashing the previous one-and-a-half-hour travel time between Tarlac and Cabanatuan to just 20 minutes.
During his keynote address, President Marcos emphasized the economic relief the high-speed road provides by lowering fuel consumption for commuters and logistics providers.
“Malaking bagay ito dahil unang-una, alam naman natin ngayon na ang inaalala natin ang konsumo ng krudo, ng gasolina ay sa bawas ng tagal ng biyahe ay mababawasan din ang konsumo sa fuel,” Marcos said.
The President announced that the newly opened segment would remain toll-free for the remainder of the year.
