CONCEPCION, Tarlac — The Provincial Hybrid Rice Derby and Field Day was held on October 1, 2026, in Barangay Caluluan, Concepcion, Tarlac, bringing together farmers, agricultural workers, and representatives from various rice seed companies.
The activity featured different hybrid rice seed varieties, giving farmers an opportunity to observe their performance under actual field conditions and learn more about the available options that may help improve rice production and farm yields.
The field day was attended by Regional Seed Coordinator Christian Ramos, APCO Ricky Manguera, Provincial Agriculturist Noel Regis and staff, and the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Concepcion headed by Juanito Lindo Jr., along with MA Victoria, Engr. Wilson Gardoce, Local Farmer Technicians (LFTs), Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), farmers from different municipalities, cooperatives, farmers’ associations, and other agriculture stakeholders.
Through the activity, farmers were able to observe the growth and performance of various hybrid rice varieties in the field and gain practical information that could help them in choosing suitable seeds for their farms.
Mayor Noel Villanueva expressed his full support for the program and other initiatives aimed at supporting the welfare and livelihood of local farmers. His support also reflects the local government’s continued efforts to assist farmers through programs that promote improved farming practices and access to agricultural technologies.
The activity highlighted the importance of cooperation among the local government, agricultural offices, seed companies, and farmers in promoting better farming practices and strengthening rice production in Concepcion and across the province of Tarlac.
