TARLAKENYO (Dec. 6, 2025) — Former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo has been transferred to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City after being convicted of qualified human trafficking.
Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, arrived at the CIW with two co-accused under a court order. She has been sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of P2 million.
She will undergo a 60-day intake process, which includes a medical quarantine and evaluation, before being assigned to a maximum-security dormitory. The Bureau of Corrections stated that this assessment period is used to develop individualized treatment plans for inmates.
