TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (October 7, 2024) — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr issued Proclamation No. 701 last Saturday designating a 200-hectare plot in Barangay Lourdes here as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The proclamation was made based on the recommendation of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and in accordance with Republic Act No. 7916, also known as the “Special Economic Zone Act of 1995”.
This is the second designated ecozone in the province this year after the Victoria Industrial Park in Barangay Baculong in Victoria town in July.
Tarlac’s economy is driven by agriculture, manufacturing, and services, making the SEZs attractive to foreign investors. These projects are expected to bolster economic activities in the province.
