CONCEPCION, Tarlac (June 11, 2024) — Senator Loren Legarda made a personal donation of P4 million to the people of this town last week.
Some 460 officers of Brgy. Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Association, OFW Seafarers, and the Municipal OFW Federation, from the 45 barangays of this town took their oath of office before Tarlac Governor Susan Yap.
The OFW officers each received assistance and bags of rice from the senator.
Legarda also donated to the Concepcion Scholarship Foundation Inc., a foundation set up by Mayor Noel Villanueva and other prominent people of Concepcion town.
Forty-eight postgraduate students from various schools became the first recipients of the scholarship foundation.
The awarding of scholarships is one of CONSFI’s initiatives to build a brighter future for the Concepcionense youth who will one day serve the town.
“Itang malugud keka, ita ing luguran mu,” said Mayor Villanueva, indicating support for Legarda for her generous assistance to the people of Concepcion.
Earlier, 177 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers beneficiaries were given an orientation. The TUPAD funds will come from Legarda’s office.
