TARLAKENYO (June 9, 2024) — Flag-raising ceremonies will be a bit longer during the remaining days of the Marcos administration starting today.
Malacañang has ordered all government agencies and schools to recite the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ (New Philippines) hymn and pledge during flag ceremonies effective immediately.
Memorandum Circular No. 52 prescribes that “the heads of all national government agencies and instrumentalities shall ensure that the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Pledge, which are annexed to this Circular, are properly disseminated within their respective institutions and offices.”
According to the Presidential Communications Office, “The move aims to instill the principles of Bagong Pilipinas among government workers.”
Bagong Pilipinas is the campaign rally of the presidency and administration of Bongbong Marcos, which focuses on an all-inclusive plan for economic and social transformation which was officially launched on January 28, 2024.
The administration’s brand is derived from a campaign jingle used during Marcos’ 2022 presidential campaign.
