SSS Camiling conducts last RACE for 2023

CAMILING, Tarlac (Oct. 13, 2023) — The Social Security System Camiling Branch conducted its third Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) activity this morning.

Nine written orders were served to delinquent employers, including three private schools, for not registering and remitting their employeesā€™ contributions to the social insurance program in northeastern towns of Tarlac.

ā€œWe appeal to these employers to religiously remit the monthly SSS contributions of their employees. If they neglect their duties, their employees will not qualify for the benefits they are entitled to claim because of insufficient contributions or their contribution records are not updated,ā€ Vilma Agapito, Luzon Central Vice President said.

Ms Agapito said that each SSS Branch needs to conduct at least two RACE activities to help new and potential members.

Meanwhile, SSS Camiling Branch Head Monalisa Nardo praised its Accounts Officers for their service to the people.

“I am thankful that our officers – Elmer Molano, Grace Maleen Dela Cruz, Carissa Quinto, and Lemuel Tolentino – remain untiring to help employees join the SSS and the employers register their companies,” Nardo said.

She also warned employers that continued non-compliance carries a penalty of six years and one day of jail time and is non-bailable.

“We are just implementors. If you do not follow the law, there is an equivalent penalty. The law is harsh, but it is the law Need na mabigyan ng proteksyon ang mga employees natin,” Nardo added.

Currently, SSS offers two programs for delinquent business and household employers ā€“ Contribution Penalty Condonation, Delinquency Management, and Restructuring Program, which covers all single proprietorships, corporations, partnerships, cooperatives, and associations, and Contribution Penalty Condonation and Restructuring Program for household employers.

Nardo also boasts that the Camiling branch is the first ISO-certified SSS office in the Philippines and was also awarded the Seal of Excellence by the Civil Service Commission.
