CAMILING, Tarlac (May 14, 2023) — The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) kicked off its 7th University Charter anniversary with a thanksgiving mass at its main campus in Brgy. Malacampa here last Wednesday.
The celebration, themed Charting the Path of a Future-Proof TAU was led by TAU President Max Guillermo, who underscored the institution’s affirmation of its mission and a strong commitment to make it relevant in the coming years.
“This validates TAU’s incessant advancement in the delivery of high-quality education and impactful service to its stakeholders in the country and overseas,” he said.
The university has several international university rankings and recognitions from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and its international partners.
The late president Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III signed Republic Act No. 10800, formally converting the Tarlac College of Agriculture to Tarlac Agricultural University on May 10, 2016. TAU is the first state college in the country to be converted into a university through the Merit Evaluation System of CHED.
CHED Commissioner and Chairman of TAU’s Board of Regents, Ronald Adamat, praised the university’s achievements.
“In spite of all its laurels, TAU shall always remain the university where men and women are honed professionally and trained to be creative, resilient, and agile,” Adamat said.
The anniversary also saw the launching of its TAU Fresh Market, Peace Walk, Dedication of the Peace Monument, and Oathtaking of Individuals of Peace.
