TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (Feb. 17, 2023) — With thousands of passport processing requests in the Philippines remaining pending, the provincial government of Tarlac has decided to roll out a “Passport On Wheels” on March 21-23, 2023.
According to Tarlac Public Employment Service Office (PESO) head Mara Reyes, the passport service will only be able to accept 1,800 applicants on a “first come, first served” basis.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) can only process 600 passports per day.
āBawal po ang walk-in applicant. Dapat po nakapagpa-rehistro sila,ā Reyes said.
Applicants must register via a link on the PESO Tarlac Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/PESO.Tarlac.Prov). The said registration link has yet to be posted as of this writing.
Tarlac Governor Susan Yap lauded the efforts of the DFA in bringing passport processing closer to the people.
āThis program is intended for TarlaqueƱos who are having difficulty getting their passports. We are grateful that we are able to partner with the DFA in bringing passport services to the province,ā the lady governor said.
